About The Position

The Painter Helper assists with industrial coatings tasks in operational industrial settings, including surface preparation, mixing, and application. The role involves using power and hand tools, handling and labeling materials, and operating, cleaning, and maintaining painting equipment such as sprayers, pumps, and pressure washers. Coatings work may take place at ground level or at elevated heights, and all coatings personnel must be capable of working at heights using fall protection equipment and access scaffolding. Painter Helpers maintain clean work areas, tools, and equipment. Most learn through on-the-job training under the supervision of a more experienced painter.

Requirements

• Capable of working at heights.
• Able to distinguish and match colors or detect differences between colors.
• Skilled in mixing and blending paints and applying them with spray equipment, rollers, or brushes.
• Able to understand and execute written and oral instructions.
• Punctual, dependable, and able to meet attendance expectations under project work rules.
• Adhere to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surface preparation, mixing, and application of industrial coatings.
• Operate power and hand tools for surface preparation safely and effectively.
• Assist with handling and mixing industrial coatings, using a half-face respirator for protection.
• Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment, including sprayers, pumps, and pressure washers.
• Safely handle, store, and label materials.
• Work at ground level and elevated areas using required fall protection equipment and access scaffolding.
• Maintain clean work areas and keep painting tools and equipment free from paint stains and debris.
• Mix and blend paints and apply them using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes.
• Follow painting methods appropriate to each job and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance in accordance with project work rules.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
