About The Position

This role involves preparing wood and metal surfaces for painting and applying paint to various surfaces using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. The Painter Blaster will also be responsible for selecting and mixing coatings, and potentially erecting scaffolding or setting up ladders. Strong knowledge of coatings, blasting, spray painting, and lead abatement is required. The position requires the ability to work at heights without fear. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor employment visas.

Requirements

3-5 years of Journeyman level experience.
Strong coatings (Blasting and spray painting) knowledge.
Lead abatement knowledge.
Ability to work at heights with no fear.
Legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

Prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting.
Paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers.
Read work orders and receive instructions verbally.
Prepare surfaces using appropriate methods to remove dirt, oil, grease, old paint, and to smooth cracks and fill holes.
Work at heights with no fear.
Select and mix coating liquids to produce desired colors according to specifications.
Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
Apply paint to surfaces using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
Utilize strong coatings (Blasting and spray painting) and lead abatement knowledge.
Perform other duties as assigned.
