About The Position

Provides the necessary craft for maintenance and renovation of the building structures, finishes, furnishings, and all other duties as required. Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. The Facilities Services Department provides security, telecommunications, housekeeping, maintenance and engineering services for the campus. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of related experience as painter/carpenter
• No Supervisor Experience

Responsibilities

• Keeps equipment clean and operational. Handles and disposes of hazardous and or infectious waste properly and practices infection control. Adheres to regulatory guidelines.
• Produces professional, high quality construction and coating applications utilizing standard painter and carpentry skills.
• Performs layout and planning of construction tasks.
• Documents labor hours and material usage for capital projects.
• Plans and performs preventative and corrective maintenance according to approved procedures, department policies, and manufacturer's specifications.
