About The Position

Sprays surfaces of trucks, buses, vans or other vehicles as assigned with protective or decorative material, such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer, using a spray gun.

Requirements

One year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school
Minimum of two years related experience and/or training
Automotive/truck body painting experience
Paint mixing experience
Knowledge of respirator systems
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Background check may include verification of criminal history, employment history, educational credentials, and professional references.

An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Review repair estimates for painting instructions and create a plan to perform work.
Provide proper tools and tool storage for performing assigned tasks.
Disassemble and re-assemble truck parts and accessories for access to painted surfaces.
Sand, prime and prep painted surfaces for painting.
Operate air operated sanding and grinding equipment.
Perform all taping and masking in a professional manner to ensure a quality and acceptable finished product.
Identify that surfaces are paint ready before applying paint products.
Apply paint products and knowledge of paint mixing procedures.
Operate pressurized spray equipment.
Familiar with safety equipment for painting, respirators, body protection, etc.
Provide a quality and acceptable paint finish for all paint assignments.
