Requirements
- 4-5 years experience refinishing buildings (interior and exterior), furniture and equipment.
- Mixes paints to desired color, shade and consistency using proportions of pigment, base and thinner.
- Prepares and applies stains for furniture.
- Prepares surfaces properly for painting (wash, scrape, wire brush, etc.).
- Applies paint enamels, etc. to proper thickness, using brush, roller or spray.
- Refinishes wood floors.
- Erects and dismantles scaffolding.
- Lays drop cloths to protect floors and furniture from paint splattering; moves furniture as necessary.
- Cleans area after painting: cleans brushes and other painting equipment.
- Performs other special duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed by supervision.
- May guide the work of Painter-B.
