About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing and cleaning steel for painting, applying primer, and painting equipment surfaces using a two-part polyurethane product. The role involves using a conventional low-pressure spray system, operating an overhead crane and forklift for material handling, troubleshooting paint issues, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• Ability to use a half-face mask or full-face shield air-purifying respirator
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work standing on hard surface (e.g. concrete) for up to 12 hours per day in hot or cold environment
• Good hand and eye coordination
• Good visual acuity
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crouch or stoop to perform various functions of the position
• Ability to reach with hands and arms
• Excellent attendance history
• Ability to work overtime and weekends if requested
• Ability to read and understand English
• Ability to perform basic shop math functions and use standard measuring devices
• Standing for long periods of time
• Arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp
• Ability to manipulate (carry, lift, move) objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years painting experience in a manufacturing environment

• Unload parts to and from the paint booth using an overhead crane and forklift
• Troubleshoot and diagnose paint problems
• Maintain equipment and area in a clean and safe condition
• Perform basic shop math functions and use standard measuring devices
• Other duties as assigned
