About The Position

As a technical resource for Axalta’s Refinish and Value Segment teams, the Product Specialist supports Axalta products across all 3 customer segments to promote sales growth, customer loyalty and satisfaction. This includes paint (all coatings), protective coatings, fillers, aerosol, putties, glazes and adjacencies. This fully remote role requires a local presence in the one of the following surrounding areas to allow for onsite visits across the assigned territory and is not eligible for relocation nor sponsorship. Preferred Omaha, NE Lincoln, NE Des Moines, IA Other Nebraska Iowa North Dakota South Dakota

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required w/ a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years body shop operations background inclusive of application equipment.
  • Hands-on expertise w/ automotive paint & collision repair products (primers, base coats, clear coats and paint mixing systems).
  • Able to report, document, create and build relationship with customers and industry partners.
  • Active listener and can interpret customer needs.
  • Willing to continuously learn.
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or training in collision repair (refinish or paint application) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, trains and supports our customers to meet the needs of our collision shop customers, with primary focus on the Economy Segment in the areas of new products, technical support, training availability.
  • Maintains expert level of knowledge and competency in all Axalta brands focusing on the Economy Segment products to support new customer installations, training and certification of painters, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to product performance, application challenges and any other technical concerns raised by customers or internal teams.
  • Conduct product training sessions and demonstrations for customers and automotive professionals to showcase best practices, application techniques and provide guidance in optimizing paint and material system performance and profitability.
  • Always demonstrates safety awareness, including emphasis on the safe application of products and the use of personal protective equipment while acting as an example for customers.
  • Is a strong team player and actively seeks opportunities to support market activities; collaborates well with team and eagerly contributes ideas during market meetings.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry partners.
  • Completes and participates in all ongoing trainings – assessments and certifications for all Axalta brands and technologies primarily focusing on the Economy Segmented products.
  • Maintain close contact with Economy Segment Sales team members to support, track, and increase customer purchase of Economy segmented products.
  • Manages overall selling expense within designated budget.
  • Remains current with industry trends and association activities.
  • Demonstrates teamwork with peers and other resources to meet customer needs and document progression.
  • Maintains a flexible schedule and willingness to travel.
