About The Position

The Paint Shop Helper will assist in various tasks within the paint shop, ensuring efficient and safe operations. This role involves preparing surfaces, maintaining equipment, managing supplies, and performing general housekeeping duties to support the production team. The helper will follow directions, adapt to changing tasks, and contribute to a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

• Ability to follow specific directions, both written and verbal.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties that may change often.
• Willingness to learn all aspects of assigned tasks.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Good communication skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be capable of lifting and moving material weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Must be able to stand and work on your feet for an entire shift.
• Physical requirements are those typically found in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in an assisting role in an industrial coating facility is desirable, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cleaning items and surfaces to be coated, including masking, plugging, or blocking finished, machined, or other surfaces.
• Assist in assembling, maintaining, repairing, and cleaning abrasive blasting and painting equipment.
• Ensure necessary paint and coating supplies are available and staged for production.
• Load parts or equipment for painting onto hanging racks, tables, or horses.
• May assist in mixing and thinning coatings according to manufacturer's recommendations.
• Perform housekeeping activities, including picking up debris, properly storing materials and equipment, and managing waste disposal.
• Maintain upkeep of coating booths and storage areas.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and governmental rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Production Manager or Operations Manager.
