About The Position

Prepares and finishes metal surfaces of trailers in preparation for painting process. Follows surface preparation specifications on trailers and accessories. Ensures components are free of rust, carbon, mill scale and weld spatter prior to the painting process. May be required to use buffers and chippers etc. to clean hard to reach areas. Washes parts and trailers in Wash Bay and removes excess water following the washing process. Operates overhead crane in a safe manner. Is familiar with all equipment used and is responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep. Monitors supplies needed in area and updates supervisor as necessary. Carefully prepares trailers for blasting or painting by masking off key components that are not to be blasted or painted. Handles, stores, and disposes of all hazardous materials properly. Successfully completes all annual training. Follows standard work and procedures. Must adhere to all safety standards set by the company. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to accurately read a measuring tape, follow and read instructions.

Remove excess water from parts and trailers following washing process
Operate overhead crane in a safe manner.
