About The Position

FAST Global Solutions is seeking a Paint Prep for Day Shift at our Falls City, Nebraska location. The role involves preparing the surface of parts and weldments by removing burrs, slag, spatter, rust, and scale. The Paint Prep will hang prepped parts from an overhead automated line or racks and wash/dry them as necessary prior to sand blasting and powder coat processes. This role also requires performing other miscellaneous tasks as supervision deems necessary.

Requirements

Ability to use a variety of hand tools and machines.
Ability to remove worn abrasive discs, wheels and belts.
Ability to sharpen chisels and scrapers.
Ability to move parts in and out of the work area.
Ability to use a wash bay to clean parts.
Ability to remove blast media from parts.
Ability to mask necessary holes prior to paint.

Responsibilities

Examines and feels part surface for defects.
Determines process to use when cleaning and hanging parts.
Uses work order instructions to determine quantity of parts to process.
Grinds parts to remove scratches, excess weld material and burrs.
Uses a variety of hand tools and machines.
Removes worn abrasive discs, wheels and belts and sharpens chisels and scrapers.
Moves parts in and moves finished product out of work area, as needed.
Uses wash bay to clean parts prior to paint.
Prepares parts for paint by removing blast media and masks any necessary holes prior to paint.
