We’re looking for a Paint Prep Technician to bring their passion, precision, and problem-solving skills to our team in Torrance, CA. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in paint preparation for high-end luxury automobiles, hot rods, or restoration shops
  • Experience with painting and prepping custom or restored automobiles
  • Experience filing, sanding, and grinding different materials such as steel, carbon-fiber/composite and/or fiberglass to provide an impeccable surface in preparation for paint application on custom automobiles
  • Experience prepping and painting different materials including steel, and composites
  • Ability to perform quality assurance to precise company standards
  • Experience using various hand and power tools and equipment
  • High attention to detail
  • Adhere to high standards

  • Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Carry out paint preparation work to the absolute highest standards on Singer luxury vehicles.
  • File, grind, mask, prep, and sand to precise standards.
  • Apply primer and paint.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections and revisions prior to advanced paint application.
  • Clean and inspect vehicles for any flaws or imperfections prior to painting.
  • Prep vehicles for paint application and ensures quality assurance to precise company standards.
  • Properly fill depressions with body filler and ensures a quality repair.
  • Carefully and accurately mask any areas that are not meant to be painted.
  • Use hammers/dollies to fix minor metalwork.
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools.
  • Replace bolts on panels and align properly.
