About The Position

Tansky’s Advanced Auto Body is hiring a Paint Prep Technician to prepare vehicles and body panels for painting while learning the automotive refinishing trade. The technician will work alongside experienced painters and collision technicians in a 55,000-square-foot facility with modern tools and equipment. Hands-on training and opportunities to advance into a full Automotive Painter position are available. Previous paint preparation or collision repair experience is preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous automotive paint prep experience is preferred but not required.
• Previous collision repair experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces and body panels for painting.
• Sand, scuff, and clean surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Mask and protect vehicle components before painting.
• Assist with primer application and surface preparation.
• Inspect surfaces for imperfections before refinishing.
• Assist painters with preparing vehicles for the paint booth.
• Learn proper use of paint preparation tools, materials, and equipment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and shop safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Work closely with painters and body technicians to maintain quality and production.
• Develop the skills needed to advance into an Automotive Painter position.
