Prepare plastic Aerospace parts for painting. This role involves visually inspecting parts prior to painting to identify failures and damage, ensuring parts are clear of dirt or foreign material, and preparing parts using tools such as sandpaper and electric sanders to achieve the required finish. The operator will also be responsible for touching up, masking, and unmasking parts, as well as maintaining knowledge of current specifications and call outs. Adherence to hazardous chemical and waste handling procedures, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and understanding of MSDS sheets are critical. The position requires developing constructive working relationships, identifying process improvement opportunities, and maintaining safe working practices. The operator must follow all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures, and safety practices. Other duties may be assigned.
