This role also involves operating power hand tools such as a hand grinder, dual action (DA) sander, and wire wheels. A key requirement is the ability to work with phosphatizing chemicals to ensure all parts are correctly prepared prior to painting for optimal paint adhesion. The operator must maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area, notify supervisors of any equipment issues, and maintain accurate records. Additionally, the role requires the operation of a powered industrial truck (forklift) and overhead cranes. The ability to read and speak English is necessary.
