About The Position

The Paint Packaging Specialist is responsible for inspecting and packaging painted materials as they come off the paint line. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards and that packaged quantities accurately match the Bill of Materials (BOM) and traveler documentation. The specialist is responsible for verifying product counts, identifying defects, maintaining accurate records, and preparing finished materials for shipment or the next stage of production.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand bill of material drawings and match physical parts to that on the BOM.
  • Understand and enforce paint standards that are set in QA-3016 during initial inspection of product off the paint line.
  • Must be dependable, cooperative, and work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to complete all required records and paperwork, which includes BOM checkoffs, BOM signoffs, and Traveler documentation.
  • Document non-conforming material off the paint line for future disposition.
  • Basic computer skills (Transfer and organization of pictures)
  • Basic camera usage.
  • Ability to communicate issues and possible solutions with production supervision.
  • Assist with onboarding new suppliers and maintaining vendor setup information and required documentation within the ERP system and vendor records.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail when inspecting painted products.
  • Consistently follows quality standards and identifies defects or non-conforming materials.
  • Maintains high standards of workmanship and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and traveler documentation.
  • Understands manufacturing processes, product specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Uses computers and cameras to document and maintain records accurately.
  • Verifies quantities, part numbers, and product configurations with precision.
  • Accurately completes documentation and records.
  • Identifies discrepancies before products are packaged or shipped.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection
