About The Position

Paints parts to meet customer and internal quality requirements. This role involves applying powder coatings according to specified standards, inspecting painted parts using various equipment, maintaining painting equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized work area. The position also requires adherence to color and application instructions, assisting other departments when needed, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years related experience or training
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Paints parts consistent to customer and internal quality needs.
• Applies powder per recommended standard mill thickness, per instructions on the paint line monitor or quality sign off sheet.
• Reads and understands paint inspection equipment including film gauges, delta e-meter, gloss meter, and is able to visually inspect parts.
• Maintains equipment in top working condition and clean at all times.
• Cleans paint booth and guns to ensure there is no color transfer.
• Keeps surrounding work area clean and clear of powder.
• Follows paint line monitor instructions on proper powder color and application.
• Helps other department employees as needed when there are no parts to paint or when line has stopped.
• Cleans and organizes work area.
