Paint Line Laborer
About The Position
This role involves preparing and hanging parts for paint line production and/or packing completed products for shipping preparation. The position is for the 2nd shift, running from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The pay range is $18.50 - $20.00 per hour. The work environment is a machine shop where dust, grease, and metal shavings are common. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, and hearing protection, is required. A mask may also be necessary in the painting area. The job requires the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and to work overtime, including weekends, as requested.
Requirements
- Able to position and manipulate parts and assemblies with the hands demonstrating manual dexterity, including masking parts
- Able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks
- Able to read and write English
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 – 2 years manufacturing experience
- Must have reliable transportation
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read blueprints is a plus
- powder coating experience desirable
Responsibilities
- Hang parts properly to be processed on the powder coating line.
- Remove excess water from parts using compressed air.
- Mask internal and external threads or specific areas according to customer blueprints that are to remain finish free.
- Inspect, package and document finished product and transfer to the next department.
- Help to maintain the cleanliness of the paint line area.
- Monitor scrap and rework.
- Move pallets into the paint line in order to maintain clear aisles.
