About The Position

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, this position's primary responsibilities are to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies for OEM and SCAG product and loading and unloading parts from the paint line. This person may perform quality issues and notify supervisor and/or resolve quality issues. Teamwork, housekeeping, and organizing are important for this role. Availability on 1st Shift.

Requirements

  • Must have prior experience in Paint.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
  • Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
  • High school degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Good finger and hand dexterity.
  • Basic knowledge in blueprints reading and torque values.
  • Previous experience working within a highly technical environment with light electrical assembly and/or heavy equipment assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Confirms job order and material selections.
  • Reports any packaging shortages.
  • Tapes and masks parts as required for coating.
  • Uses correct hangers to hang parts correctly on conveyor.
  • Hangs parts uniformly for cleaning and powder painting.
  • Assists with desk assembly on line and assembles tread plates, when needed.
  • Removes parts from racks after oven cure.
  • Inspects coated parts for coating thickness using approved gauges.
  • Keeps paint hooks clean and in good working order; organizes the area as needed.
  • Responsible for filling out and managing all production and quality documentation as required.
  • Racks fenders with material handler when unloading line.
  • Follows instructions to package parts to avoid damage in proper containers and on proper racks.
  • Follows all company rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Reports quality concerns to line leader, manager, or QC department.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, using proper PPE and load weight limitations.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.
