About The Position

The Paint Film Technician is primarily responsible for the installation of Paint Protection Film and other appearance accessories on new vehicles onsite at our Vehicle Processing Center (VPC). Installation must conform to vendor, Southeast Toyota and Toyota Manufacturing installation, quality specifications and time allowances.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required; clean Motor Vehicle Record, ability to drive manual transmission vehicles preferred.
  • Prior mechanical experience, preferably automotive related, or relevant training required.
  • Previous paint film or similar product installation such as window tint, experience preferred.
  • Willing to cross train and work where assigned to support production.
  • Ability to read, understand and consistently apply TMS and SET installation procedures and quality standards.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to perform to quality and productivity standards without direct or continual supervision.
  • Willing to wear & utilize required safety equipment including step stools, non-slip mats, and stools.
  • Ability to effectively work alone or within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with teammates, other associates and management required.
  • Ability to stand/walk the majority of the day perform a significant amount of bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and twisting and able to lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Excellent work and attendance record with demonstrated flexibility to work overtime and alternate assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • An effective Paint Film installation requires the Tech to thoroughly moisten the film with soapy solution via handheld spray bottle to assist with application.
  • The Tech will continuously use a squeegee type device, hands and fingers to place & stretch the material, remove water, air and fluid bubbles from the product.
  • This role requires the ability to push, pull, and reach a majority of the day.
  • Wet or dried product with defects may require removal from the vehicle.
  • Needs to have the ability to grasp and pull material off the vehicle.
  • The Paint Film Tech is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able & willing to complete all work assigned.
  • The Techs are expected to cross-train into secondary installation shop skills and work where assigned to support production.
  • Some Saturday work may be required depending on workload.
  • The Paint Film Tech will be eligible for a competitive hourly wage with the opportunity to earn generous incentive pay based on productivity.
  • Additional shop skills can include electrical/torque related accessory installation shops, pre-delivery function testing and shipping readiness shops, and truck spray-in bed liner accessory application.
