Requirements

  • Experienced within plastic exterior automotive industry (paint application and testing is preferred).
  • Working knowledge of APQP process.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for changes and improvements.
  • Understanding of Material control management.
  • Industrial or Chemical engineering degree, with associated work experience in paint application or paint quality and testing preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing knowledge of OEM testing requirements for paint on plastic a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Inside Paint launch APQP process.
  • Provide Leadership to Paint APQP colorists and Paint lab personnel including providing instruction, positive and corrective feedback, performance reviews, development plans, and improvement plans across all shifts.
  • Ensure all control plan functions are being performed by paint lab personnel to meet customer expectations.
  • Ensure program/quality management tool updates are on track (i.e. ECR/ECN and TraX)
  • Coordinate performance and development testing with Process Engineering, Product Engineers and the laboratory on assigned programs.
  • Department interface to program management on assigned programs.
  • Attend program launch customer build events and meetings to provide updates for assigned programs for Paint as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities.
  • Ensure compliance of environmental and hazardous paint material management systems.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
