About The Position

This is a full-time position in the Paint Department at Cordell ACE Hardware. The role involves mixing paint, providing expert advice on color matching and paint selection, and maintaining the paint counter and aisles. The position requires knowledge of painting tools, materials, preparation, and application techniques, as well as the ability to estimate time and material needs. Excellent customer service is essential, along with secondary duties such as assisting with merchandise loading, freight check-in, cleaning, stocking, ordering, and price updates.

Requirements

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to operate office machines
Good physical condition for lifting

Nice To Haves

H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
Retail experience
Paint experience
A painter is a plus
Computers, Excel is a plus
Knowledge of merchandise
Self-motivated
Organized

Responsibilities

Mix paint
Offer color matching expertise and paint product selection advice
Maintain the paint counter and aisles on a daily basis
Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
Provide knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials used in the painting industry
Provide knowledge in the preparation and application of paints to different types of surfaces
Provide knowledge in estimating time and material requirements for work projects
Provide customer service (help customers find what they need in a professional and courteous manner)
Help load merchandise for customers
Help check in freight
Cleaning and stocking merchandise
Ordering merchandise
Updating prices
Answer telephone
