About The Position

The Paint and Prime Technician is responsible for preparing, priming, and painting components within the Urethane Department, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to company standards. This role works closely with the Urethane Pour Technician and supports production by cleaning, inspecting wheels, and assisting in Symbotic department operations as needed. ABBA Roller specializes in high-performance urethane rollers and custom elastomer solutions for industrial and commercial applications. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic understanding of surface preparation and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be a "U.S. person" as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15), which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, as required by U.S. export control laws.

  • Prior experience in painting, priming, coating, or similar manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting and priming by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying appropriate treatments.
  • Apply primer and paint coatings in accordance with specifications, ensuring consistent quality and finish.
  • Inspect wheels and components for defects, damage, or non-conformance prior to and after coating.
  • Perform cleaning of wheels and parts using appropriate tools, chemicals, and processes.
  • Support Urethane Pour Technician with setup, preparation, and general assistance during production runs.
  • Assist in Symbotic department functions as needed, including material handling, staging, and process support.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Accurately complete required documentation, production logs, and quality checklists.
  • Identify and report quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or process deviations to supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.
