About The Position

This role involves preparing aircraft components and airframe surfaces for painting and performing the painting process according to Airbus manufacturer procedures. The technician will be responsible for ensuring surfaces are properly prepared, paints are mixed and applied correctly, and the final product meets customer acceptance standards. Documentation of work performed is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of four (4) years of Painting and Paint preparation on metal and composite/fiberglass components.
Strong paint skills
Previous Paint work
Able to read and work from blue prints and Bills of material (BOM) to ensure proper coatings are applied IAW Technical Data
Must be able to use basic hand tools to remove and install hardware
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English

Responsibilities

Prepare all surfaces for paint by sanding, masking, filling, washing and removal of dents.
Apply corrosive preventative treatments, primers, and finish coats of special Material.
Mix and/or tint paint as required.
Perform layout of paint schemes as specified by the customer.
Apply paint materials to all prepared surfaces according to manufacturer instructions.
Complete Aircraft for customer acceptance by brush touch-up, cleaning striping lines and removal of overspray.
Perform on a daily basis releasing and updating time sheet. Sign off work clearly and legibly in a timely manner, using adequate description of work being performed. All necessary blocks on the Discrepancy sheets need to be filled out as required. Work needs to be signed off using correct referenced, AMM, Engineering Dispositions, and Repair Design Approval Sheets (RDAS). Complete tool box audit sheets on a daily basis at the end of the shift.
Complete forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.
Other duties as assigned by shop lead.
