Requirements
- Active Oklahoma RN License (or eligibility)
- BLS Certification (within 30 days of hire)
- ACLS/PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pain or Phase II nurse.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures following hospital policies.
- Educate patients and families about the surgical experience.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Ensure all necessary pre-op requirements are met before surgery.
- Maintain and rotate supplies/medications to prevent expirations.
- Receive patient handoff from PACU or OR nurse.
- Monitor vital signs, airway, respiratory & circulatory status.
- Administer medications and follow physician orders.
- Promote patient comfort, privacy, and safety.
- Educate patients and families on post-op care and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate smooth patient discharge, ensuring a seamless transition home.
- Complete post-operative calls and provide follow-up care.
