Pain Management Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
About The Position
Compass Palliative Care seeks Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with experience and interest in palliative and pain management. The practice provides services to California-based patients in assisted living facility (ALF) and skilled nursing facility (SNF) settings in the Ridgecrest area. Practitioners are assigned a specific patient load and are responsible for those patients. The program is run by experienced, board-certified physicians who provide staff training and in-service education and support staff advancement and positive patient outcomes. The position offers flexible days and hours and involves work on the road.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in California.
- Must have an active DEA license.

Responsibilities
- Assess patients in an ALF/SNF environment.
- Provide palliative and pain management to best treat each patient.
- Perform pain management procedures as needed.
- Define and document patient diagnoses.
- Prescribe and refill medications.
- Provide patient and family education and management.
- Document findings and the course of treatment in patient charts, including follow-up notes.
- Participate in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals.
