About The Position

OSMC is hiring a full time Pain Management Medical Assistant! OSMC is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system within a patient-centered, service-driven environment. Our team works collaboratively to ensure every patient receives exceptional care and support throughout their treatment journey. We are looking for a strong Pain Management Medical Assistant to work with a dedicated physicians in a busy medical office setting. This person will assist the physicians in our Pain Management Department with patient care, procedures, clerical duties, environmental tasks, and clinic organization. Overall a Medical Assistant serves as a key member of the pain management team by ensuring efficient patient flow, assisting with direct patient care, supporting physicians, maintaining clinical operations, and providing exceptional patient-centered service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED is required for placement within OSMC.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one to two years of medical assistant experience, preferably orthopedic.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and rooming patients, documenting medical information, and maintaining accurate electronic health records.
  • Assisting physicians with patient examinations, procedures, injections, aspirations, casting, splinting, dressing changes, and other clinical treatments.
  • Coordinating patient care by reviewing orders, obtaining test results, facilitating diagnostic imaging, and communicating appointment details and instructions.
  • Providing patient support by assisting with mobility, transfers, exam preparation, and educating patients and family members on physician instructions.
  • Maintaining clinic operations through opening and closing duties, stocking supplies, monitoring inventory, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and ensuring exam rooms are prepared for patient care.
  • Utilizing electronic systems, including NextGen EHR and related applications, to support clinical documentation and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments while responding promptly to patient and staff needs.
  • Traveling to other clinic locations as needed, attending required meetings, maintaining patient confidentiality, and complying with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
