About The Position
Behavioral Health Services North (BHSN), in partnership with ACCESS-VR (Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation), is seeking individuals interested in gaining valuable work experience through paid internship opportunities with local employers throughout the North Country region. Internships are designed to provide hands-on workplace experience, career exploration, skill development, and professional growth. Participants are matched with community employers based on their interests, abilities, vocational goals, and available opportunities. Interns will gain practical experience in a professional work environment while developing workplace readiness skills that support future employment success.
Requirements
- Eligible for services through ACCESS-VR
- Interest in gaining work experience and developing job skills
- Ability to follow directions and work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and conduct
- Basic computer skills may be required depending on placement
Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily workplace operations
- Providing administrative or clerical support
- Assisting customers, clients, staff, or visitors as appropriate
- Supporting projects and special assignments
- Learning and applying workplace policies and procedures
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities
- Maintaining professional behavior, confidentiality, and workplace standards
- Performing other duties as assigned by the internship supervisor
