The Morris/Sussex Vicinage is accepting resumes for the Family Division paid internship opportunities for Fall 2026 through Spring 2027. The interns will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, supportive tasks, and customer service duties in connection with proceedings instituted before the Court. Interns may also assist with tasks such as, but not limited to, data entry and look-ups, filing, and making photocopies. The interns will gain a broad insight and knowledge of the court system. Flexible schedules are available. The selected candidates will treat all personnel, clients, and members of the public with dignity, courtesy, and respect.

Requirements

  • Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university pursuing a degree.
  • Unofficial College or University transcript reflecting current Fall 2026 enrollment must be included in your application in order to be considered.
  • Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
  • Applicants must complete the work experience and education sections and attach any required documents.
  • Applications must describe all relevant work experience in detail, beginning with your current or most recent job, including military service (indicate rank), internships and job-related volunteer work, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of clerical, administrative, supportive tasks, and customer service duties in connection with proceedings instituted before the Court.
  • Assist with tasks such as, but not limited to, data entry and look-ups, filing, and making photocopies.
  • Perform special projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis.
  • Perform computer related work.
  • Assist with answering phones, returning phone calls, and receiving and distributing voicemails.
  • Collect and enter data.
  • Provide customer service.
  • Draft correspondences and memos.
  • Attend community planning meetings.
  • Assist staff as directed.
