About The Position

Adams Publishing Group is seeking creative-minded individuals to join their centralized, virtual commercial pagination team. This family-owned company, with over 125 news titles across the U.S., requires team members who can work efficiently and collaboratively to produce newspaper pages for various publications nationwide. The role emphasizes both quality and quantity, with expectations for team members to complete a minimum number of pages per hour and communicate effectively within a remote team environment. Problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple papers during a production shift are also key. Remote paginators will be provided with a company computer and monitor, but are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection.

Requirements

• Newspaper page design skills.
• Deep knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
• Ability to work swiftly and effectively in a remote team environment.
• Complete a minimum of 3-4 Broadsheet pages per hour or 6-7 tab pages per hour.
• Communicate well with remote editors and team members, via online chats, emails, but most specifically through the online proofing/output process.
• Ability to problem-solve and work on multiple papers during each production shift.
• Working knowledge of basic Google and Microsoft communications tools, and Adobe Suite software.
• Familiarity with AP style.
• Must be able to work at a pace of 4 Broadsheet or 6-7 tab pages per hour.
• Ability to collaborate in a remote team environment and meet deadlines consistently while producing high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

• College degree and/or experience in journalism.
• Experience working in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow design guidelines to produce layouts using desktop publishing software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
• Edit graphics and photos. This includes cropping, color correction, sizing, changing color depth, and collecting graphics and art for use in layout.
• Troubleshoot issues with pages that fail to output correctly.
• Convert, upload files for use online.
