About The Position

The Paddlesports Operations Supervisor at the Whitewater Center (Whitewater) assists in leading the team of front-line staff responsible for assisting and guiding guests through the Whitewater Center’s water-based activities. The ability to train and coach staff is critical to the success of this role, as is effective problem solving and strategic thinking. The Paddlesports Operations Supervisor is an on-site, full-time, benefits-eligible position that reports to the Outdoor Activities Director.

Requirements

A degree in Operations Management, Recreation Management, or another related field.
Prior experience guiding and training guides in up to class IV whitewater.
Proficiency in Microsoft systems
Prior experience teaching, coaching, and developing curriculum in a non-formal setting.
Prior management experience required, ideally managing a whitewater outfitter.
Patient and organized with a focus on safety.
Strong leadership and public speaking skills
Complete an approved raft guide training.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during other Whitewater events as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsible for daily operations of all Paddlesports activities alongside other Supervisors/Assistant Managers
Manage an efficient operation, demonstrate fiscal awareness, and continuously ensure the proper execution of tasks and utilization of resources.
Ensure that the team maintains high safety standards and provides excellent guest experience.
Involvement in basic maintenance and inspections of all activity equipment and structures
Create and implement strategies for efficient scheduling.
Work with the management team to create operational efficiencies to further the growth of the department.
Other duties as assigned.
