About The Position

Assist patients with basic surgery post op and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. This is a PRN position, 2 days per week, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Requirements

• Knowledge of patient care
• Patient Interviewing skills
• Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
• Ability to adapt to change quickly
• Able to assist with lifting and moving patients.
• Good communication skills with coworkers and patients

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant or clinical training
• One year experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic surgery post op and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
• Communicates well with the charge nurse to assure continuity of care
• Assists with the safe transportation of the patient during discharge
• Cleaning of stretchers after patients have been moved to step down chair.
• Wipes down equipment at the end of each case.
• Performs and completes assignments with enthusiasm and self-direction.
• Performs additional functions as assigned by Clinical Manger or Charge Nurse.
