PACU Cross Trained Assistant- Full-Time
About The Position
OSH, a physician-owned hospital, is looking for a full-time PACU Cross Trained Nurse Tech to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 8:30a - 5:00p. The Cross Trained Nurse Technician holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintenance of a safe and clean environment, and certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population (dependent on area) under the direction and supervision of an RN. Must also be competent to assist in covering unit secretary duties. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- BLS required upon hire or must take BLS class offered at OSH within 60 days to obtain.
Nice To Haves
- Zero to six months prior to experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide training program preferred.
- Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN.
- Cooperation and strong “team” focus required.
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.
