About The Position

The PACU Aide will follow established protocols and procedures, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, will perform various patient care duties and tasks. This position generally works four days per week Monday – Thursday 6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Flexibility in schedule is needed from time to time to meet business goals and provide exceptional patient service.

Ability to communicate and speak clearly and concisely.
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to exercise judgement, initiative, and possess critical thinking skills.
Professional communication with internal and external contact and patients.
A strong attention to detail and accuracy needed when working in a fast pace, multi-tasking environment is essential.
Reading, writing, and speaking English to follow verbal and written instructions and complete documentation.
Ability to learn and follow organizational policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all healthcare team members to ensure patient safety.
Intermediate computer skill level.
BLS required

Responsibilities

Obtaining vital signs
Assisting patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene
Transporting patients
Assisting with the coordination of surgical care for patients
Working in collaboration with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and entire OR staff to maintain a safe surgical environment for the patient
Consistently using correct grammar in verbal and written communication
Providing exceptional customer service
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
Exercising good judgment and initiative
Using critical thinking skills to deliver positive outcomes
Paying close attention to detail and accuracy in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
