About The Position

Worthington Armstrong Venture (WAVE), a joint venture between Worthington Enterprises and Armstrong World Industries, is a worldwide leader in the production of suspended ceiling systems, manufacturing metal ceiling grids. Founded in 1992, WAVE operates under a philosophy rooted in the golden rule, fostering strong customer, supplier, and shareholder relationships. WAVE is currently seeking a Packout to join their team. This role is responsible for operating a packout station, assembling cartons, and completing the packing process for finished goods. The Packout also supports production operators with quality checks, coil changeovers, and maintaining production line operations. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:00 pm, with occasional required overtime. The hourly rate is $22.00, and total compensation includes base wages and profit sharing.

Requirements

Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds.
Able to stand 8-10 hours per day at assigned work area.
Background check required.

Knowledge and experience of machinery in a manufacturing environment, or similar.

Responsibilities

Obtain carton blanks, form/fold cartons, staple ends, apply labels, and place cartons in the packout machine.
Provide visual attention to monitor operation and quality of product.
Analyze malfunctions and complete machine troubleshooting procedures to correct breakdowns or product defects.
Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform all work in a safe manner, using proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety equipment is in proper working order.
Operate overhead bridge crane for loading/unloading of raw material, as well as other hand-powered tools (training provided).
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.
