About The Position

This position focuses on working in the packing and shipping department on the weekend shift. The associate will package and/or load furniture for shipment to customers according to standard operating procedures to ensure departmental goals in safety, service, quality, and cost are met. This role is located in Booneville, MS.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of packing/shipping experience in a warehouse operations environment.
• Good math and reading skills.
• Good communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to read and understand production tickets and interpret simple instructions from standard operating procedures.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team with other associates and managers.
• Strong sense of urgency and time management to meet established deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Packing and shipping experience in a furniture manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Bilingual, English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits, adhering to personal protective equipment standards.
• Adhere to company policies with a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others.
• Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to achieve departmental and facility production goals using documented Standard Operating Procedures.
• Establish and promote hard work ethics through teamwork and collaboration to maximize productivity while ensuring quality and adhering to safety policies.
• Communicate openly and professionally with departmental leadership to ensure issues and obstacles are addressed.
• Package and load furniture per standard operating procedures at a minimum rate of 6 pieces per hour with a goal of 8 pieces per hour.
• Ensure tags/tickets/rolls are correctly placed on items for inventory system accuracy and follow system requirements for tracking materials.
