About The Position

The Night Shift Packer role involves picking, inspecting, and packing quality parts into boxes on an assigned line, accurately counting parts, bagging parts, and ensuring boxes are properly sealed. The role also requires maintaining a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety policies, and wearing required safety gear. For SQF Certified Sites, there is an expectation of understanding cGMPs, Good Hygiene Personnel Practices, performing basic sanitation functions, and identifying/addressing food safety and quality issues. The ideal candidate will represent the customer and be the consumer's advocate.

Requirements

  • High school, Vo-Tech, or equivalent graduate.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak clearly before groups of customers or employees.
  • Basic Math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend information provided.
  • Ability to stand for most of the work shift.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch, bend, twist, and only occasionally sit.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Heavier amounts can be moved with assistance of equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • One to three months related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of and/or previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Picking, inspecting, and packing quality parts into boxes on his/her assigned Line.
  • Accurately counting parts to ensure that customers get a consistent, quality product.
  • Bagging parts and placing into correct box on the assigned production line.
  • Assuring that each box is properly sealed to minimize the potential for damage.
  • Effectively operating equipment as required.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work area, and reporting any unsafe conditions to the Operator and/or supervisor for resolution.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and making sure the packing area is kept clean at all times.
  • Adhering to safety policy.
  • Wearing all safety gear at all times.
  • Wearing a hairnet and glove when handling finished product.
  • Wearing company issue uniforms.
  • Meeting or exceeding minimum standards for quality packaged Finished Goods.
  • Reporting any quality problems immediately to the Operator.
  • Turning on the notification light switch near the packing area if product quality is unacceptable and the operator is not around.
  • Having a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Notifying the SQF Practitioner and/or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Performing Basic Sanitation Functions (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Performing all duties necessary to meet Company, and/or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Notifying the SQF Practitioner/Quality Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Identifying problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Initiating action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Executing and following the HOLD SOP (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Controlling further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Following all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property (for SQF Certified Sites).
  • Understanding all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies, HACCP & SQF (for SQF Certified Sites).
