About The Position

Responsible for packaging parts for shipment/transport. This role involves measuring, weighing, and counting products and materials, as well as examining and inspecting containers, materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met. The position also requires ensuring all documentation is kept with the materials, recording product, packaging, and order information, and sealing containers using various packaging materials. Additionally, the Packer will assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, clean work areas and equipment, and follow supervisor instructions. A key aspect of the role is ensuring the integrity of parts after processing, checking for damage or scratches, and visually inspecting parts to confirm the process has been completed correctly. Other duties as assigned may also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Vision (Near, Distance)
  • Sense of Sound - Able to hear average conversation
  • Sense of Touch
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Safety Glasses
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Access to knowledge and technical data regulated by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Valence Surface Technologies is required to verify that applicants meet ITAR requirements prior to employment for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Package parts for shipment/transport.
  • Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.

  • Ensure that all documentation is kept with the materials.
  • Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
  • Seal containers or materials, using stretch wrap, tape, and other packaging materials.
  • Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools.
  • Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
  • Follow instructions from supervisor pertaining to specific instructions or tasks.
  • Ensure integrity of parts after processing (damage, scratches, etc.).
  • Visually inspect parts to ensure the process has been completed correctly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
