About The Position

This position is responsible for promoting a safe working environment and adhering to all safety policies and procedures. The Packer will monitor products for quality defects, pack at a standard rate, and perform various operational and housekeeping duties to ensure efficiency and safety on the assigned line.

Requirements

Ability to understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures
Ability to monitor ware for quality defects
Ability to pack at a standard rate
Ability to operate a punch
Ability to load conveyors and flamers
Ability to practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine
Ability to remove scrap from around the line
Ability to grind and pull plastic as needed
Ability to make and unitize cartons
Ability to initial and date box labels
Ability to make out unit tickets

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment
Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/ or the coordinator.
Pack at standard rate.
Operate a punch.
Load conveyors and flamers.
Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
Remove scrap from around the line.
Grind and pull plastic as needed.
Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
Initial and date box labels.
Make out unit tickets.
Do any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.
