Packer 12 Night shift
About The Position
This position involves trimming, inspecting, and packing containers or parts on line 1. Responsibilities also include managing the 95-gallon trash cans by taking them to the compactor for emptying and returning them. The role requires inspecting and packing bottles on assigned lines, in the repack area, or during rework activities. The Packer will monitor production for quality defects, promptly informing the operator and/or supervisor of any issues. They will also correctly apply tickets to finished packages, read and understand job discrete pick lists, and ensure compliance on their assigned line. Filling in required data on exception reports and pack/inspection sheets is also part of the role. Additionally, the Packer will start, stop, reset, and clear jams on auxiliary equipment such as bottle conveyors, sleeve labelers, box makers, labelers, flame treaters, and leak testers. Completing assigned housekeeping duties in areas of responsibility and employee safety observation forms, and reporting hazards are also expected. Participation in monthly safety and/or quality meetings and adherence to Silgan safety policies are required. The role includes emptying reject bins and grinding scrap as necessary. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

- Inspect and pack bottles on assigned lines, repack area or during rework activities
