About The Position

The Packer position is a full-time, day shift role responsible for various tasks related to packaging finished products. This includes preparing boxes, inspecting products and labels, applying lids, taping and palletizing, and operating specific machinery. The role also involves adhering to security and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

• Basic math skills
• Basic reading skills
• Good communication skills, written and oral
• Must be able to work rotating shifts
• Must be able willing to work with very little notice upon business needs
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-learner and ability to multi-task
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must be able to cross-train in other positions including departments
• Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance
• Must be able to stand, walk, work in an environment where stooping, twisting and bending are frequent up to 10 hrs.

Responsibilities

• Make boxes
• Inspect cans or boxes prior to packing
• Check if label is placed correctly
• See if label and carton match (when applicable)
• Add plastic lids to the plastic lid application (when applicable)
• Tape and palletize finished product
• Add metal ends to can seamer if necessary (when applicable)
• Operate can depalletizer if necessary (when applicable)
• Add stickers to the cases as order production order requires (when applicable)
• Perform any activity required by the operator, production lead or the production supervisor
• Adequately carry out all activities related to security and quality of the product
• Comply and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
