About The Position

The Packer position packs finished product into shipping cases, passes them through a tape machine for conveying into the Warehouse. This role also contributes to the company's 'OurRecipe@SauerBrands' initiative by understanding what is being made, why it is being made, how it is being made, and where the company is going.

Requirements

Must be detail-oriented.
Able to walk and stand during most of a 10-hour shift.
Quality driven, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
Dependable and punctual.
Able to lift 30 lbs.
High School Diploma required.

Nice To Haves

Machine Operating Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure all necessary materials for the position are accounted for, including clipboards, production downtime sheets, schedules, paper towels, rubber gloves, and writing implements.
Assist the Filler Operator in monitoring film rolls on both the front and rear of the machine, and notify them when film is getting low.
Verify the correct box is used for each product.
Monitor the tape machine and printer during the shift to ensure they are functioning correctly, and notify the Filler Operator immediately if they are not.
Keep the belt clean during the shift, wiping it off if the machine is down.
Notify the Filler Operator of any quality defects, such as oily, greasy, or leaking product, or misaligned film/lidding, and defective or wrong boxes, trays, and pads.
Correct or rework any out-of-spec (but correctable) product or packages as instructed by the operator or supervisor.
Ensure all paperwork is legible and all downtime is accounted for on the downtime sheet.
Maintain orderly and clean work areas.
