About The Position

Santa Monica Seafood, a privately owned company with 80 years of history, is the largest specialty wholesale distributor and processor of fresh and frozen seafood in the Southwestern U.S. The company operates over 200,000 SF of facilities across 12 locations in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. Additionally, Santa Monica Seafood is recognized for its two retail stores and cafes in Santa Monica and Costa Mesa. It holds the distinction of being the first and only seafood company in the U.S. to achieve FSSC 22000 certification for food safety management systems, ISO 14001 certification for environmental management programs, and BAP certification for its main processing facility. As a Packer, your primary responsibility is to process high-quality fresh fish to accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders. This role also involves maintaining a clean, safe, and productive work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or production experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and follow directions

Responsibilities

  • Package product with speed and accuracy to meet production standards
  • Place fish fillets and portions onto conveyor belts and processing equipment
  • Pack finished products into cases
  • Follow written and verbal instructions effectively
  • Work collaboratively with team members and support overall production goals
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
