Packer - Day shift
About The Position
This role is responsible for pulling and stacking product based on daily orders, packing product according to company specifications, verifying product counts, and ensuring accurate quantities are packed and labeled correctly. The Packer will also stack and organize finished goods on pallets, maintain product separation and rotation, monitor product quality, and report any defects or safety concerns. Additionally, the role involves operating equipment such as pallet wrappers and pallet jacks, reporting mechanical issues, and contributing to process improvement. The Packer must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, work-safe practices, and maintain a clean and safe work area. This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule.
Requirements
- Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet production deadlines.
- Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work safely in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise and moving equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of six months of experience in distribution or manufacturing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Pulls and stacks product based on daily orders.
- Packs product in designated polybag and corrugate boxes according to company specifications.
- Verifies product counts and ensures accurate quantities are packed and labeled correctly.
- Stacks and organizes finished goods on pallet according to approved pallet configuration.
- Keeps products separated, organized, and in good rotation.
- Monitors product quality throughout the packing process and promptly reports defects, contamination concerns, or safety issues.
- Operates various pieces of equipment such as pallet wrappers & pallet jacks.
- Reports any mechanical problems.
- Utilizes continuous-improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follows Good Manufacturing Practices and required work-safe practices.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
