About The Position

Coke Farm, a part of Charlie's Produce, is seeking a Hybrid Packer / Order Builder for their warehouse operations team in San Juan Bautista, CA. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in both Packing and Shipping/Order Building departments, supporting operational flexibility and developing cross-functional warehouse skills. Requirements

  • Ability to work consistently in a refrigerated environment (35°F to 45°F).
  • Capacity to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed written and verbal instructions from supervisors and the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Proficiency in basic English communication, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality; consistent attendance is essential to operational success.
  • Strong commitment to observing and following all safety procedures and reporting potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
  • Willingness to take direction from management and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow simple instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, including reading scales and verifying product weights.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse, packing, order building, shipping, or food production experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Check in with the Packing Lead to confirm assigned work areas and review the volume of raw commodity bins scheduled for receipt and processing.
  • Rotate among workstations and assignments as operational needs require.
  • Fill individual bags or boxes with the specified quantity or weight of raw commodities.
  • Fold corrugated boxes as needed.
  • Apply required labels accurately to commodities, bags, and boxes.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet established quality standards and remove any items that do not meet specifications.
  • Stack packaged bags or boxes accurately on pallets and move them to designated storage areas.
  • Wash and sanitize empty bins as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize worktables and surrounding work areas at the end of each shift, including wiping down surfaces and sweeping floors.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Build product orders according to specifications in a refrigerated warehouse environment while maintaining a minimum of 150 boxes per hour, utilizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for order accuracy and inventory allocation.
  • Navigate and utilize the WMS to retrieve order details, confirm product locations, update inventory status, and record order completion in real time.
  • Prepare customer orders for delivery by building produce pallets, wrapping finished orders, and staging them on the loading dock in accordance with WMS-generated load sequences.
  • Perform comprehensive quality control checks on all orders for accuracy, completeness, and product condition before staging, cross-referencing pick tickets with WMS records.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, accurately mark containers, receive and verify incoming pick tickets, and locate products using WMS technology and warehouse equipment.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies, stocking issues, racking concerns, or equipment maintenance needs to supervisors, documenting findings in the WMS when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace throughout the shift while adhering to all warehouse safety protocols and sanitation standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment including a two-way radio, pallet jack, and forklift in compliance with company safety procedures and WMS-directed staging locations.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the Department Manager or Supervisor.
