About The Position

This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of products through the production process and ensuring proper ingredients/supplies are being used on the line. It is also responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying the supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have been in their current position 90 days to promote to higher pay grade.
  • Must have been in their current position 6 months: To laterally transfer in same job on same shift or another shift, line, and/or department To demote to lower pay grade
  • No more than 4.5 attendance points on record.
  • Must not have received a written warning within the past 6 months.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to be exposed to a cold/damp work environment with temperatures ranging from 28-42 degrees.
  • Must be willing and able to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment and requires repetitive motions.
  • Must be willing and able to stand, bend, reach overhead, and twist for extended periods.
  • Must be willing and able to stand 8-12 hours a day on a hard floor.

Responsibilities

  • Operator Care- Basic lubrication, inspection, adjustments, repairs, cleaning (CLAIR LEAN Manufacturing- Contribute to a continuous improvement environment by participating in activities to include line side problem solving.
  • 5S program (Andon System Stoplight)- Contribute to a safe and organized work environment by maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Physical lifting/moving, bending to stock material from inventory location to robotic equipment (Min 25 LBS).
  • Perform perfect packaging checks.
  • Safely and efficiently resolve jams and equipment malfunctions.
  • Identify material quality defects and take appropriate action.
  • Weigh rework using a floor scale and Human Machine Interface (HMI) workstation.
  • Operate handheld digital scanner.
