Packer/Inspector - NIGHT SHIFT
About The Position
This role involves removing finished products from machines, inspecting them to ensure they meet quality specifications, and verifying that all packaging requirements are met according to the production work order. The position requires adherence to packaging specifications, including special skids, cartons, cradles, banding, and sample requirements. The individual will also assist in machinery start-up and changeovers, perform regular quality checks, and accurately enter production data into JDE, including closing out the last skid of an order. A key responsibility is completing at least one Work Place Observation per month. The role also includes applying customer labels neatly and correctly, following identification and tally sheets, and adhering to bar code requests. Maintaining good manufacturing practices (GMPs), ensuring proper housekeeping and safety, and organizing paperwork are also essential duties. The job requires the ability to read and use a tape measure and weigh scale, lift up to 50 pounds, possess manual dexterity, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Remove finished product from machines.
- Inspect product to ensure quality specifications have been met and that all packaging requirements have been done according to production work order.
- Read work order for product specifications and any special instructions concerning packaging, special skids, cartons, cradles, banding requirements, and samples.
- Inspects products for customer requirements and any defects.
- Assists in start-up and changeover of machinery or orders.
- Performs all required quality checks on all orders on a regular basis.
- Adheres to all packaging requirements per Production Work Order.
- Capable of entering production in JDE and printing all necessary paperwork, to include closing out last skid of order.
- Completes at least one Work Place Observation per month.
- Place customer labels on end of cartons or gaylords in a straight and neat manner.
- Adhere to any and all identification sheets, tally sheets, bar codes as requested by the customer.
- Follow AIB Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S) per written procedures and practices.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safety by maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Maintain paperwork in order and not inter-mixed with orders that are completed or about to run.
