About The Position

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring a Packer Dumper to join our Production Team. The Packer Dumper is responsible for the safe operation of the set-up, operation, adjustment, and clean-up of packaging equipment to ensure product is packed, labeled & palletized.

Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and the ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and RedZone software.
• Working overtime as needed throughout the week, up to and including Saturday work.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift
• Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals
• Must be able to work onsite in Oswego location
• Candidates must currently be at least 18 years of age AND possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3 months experience and/or training in a USDA regulated manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Pack and label products accurately and efficiently.
• Inspect items and packaging materials for damage or defects.
• Dumps product into hopper for filling
• Cleans and washes line and equipment, and cleans work area and equipment at end of shift
• Adherence to all department procedures and GMP's, including following precise instructions.
• May manually pack units into cartons; affix label carton; stack cartons onto pallets; operator a forklift as required
