This position is responsible for supporting and backing up operators in the packaging process in accordance with operational manuals and quality criteria. The role involves producing the required quantity of batched recipes within established specifications and tolerances, inspecting raw and in-process materials, maintaining logs and records, performing equipment maintenance and quality/sanitation functions, and interfacing with the plant ERP system. The Packaging Utility Operator also supports the Packaging Operator by learning their role and performing various mechanical and manual tasks, including case filling, manual palletization, packaging, bagging, labeling, lot coding, check weighing, and sanitation. They are responsible for operating all manual and automatic packaging equipment, maintaining housekeeping of the packaging machines and plant area, and ensuring equipment cleanliness. The role requires accurate and concise paperwork completion, utilization of the ERP system for inventory management, adherence to quality guidelines and sanitation schedules, and support for other lines and process functions as needed to maximize plant efficiency. Additionally, the position requires disposal of waste materials, operation of a forklift, and support for other process functions. The role also involves executing the company's Vision, Mission, and Values, promoting a positive environment, providing back-up support for other roles, and being available for overtime as necessary. Other duties may be assigned by management.
