The Packaging Technician position is responsible for ensuring packaging tasks are being completed, brewery standards are being met and safety standards are being adhered to. This is a vital role in getting Big Grove beer out into the marketplace. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, must be quality focused and enjoy working with a positive attitude and eager to contribute to a team that values and successes.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot packaging machinery (e.g., canning lines, keg washers, labeling machines).
  • Understanding of basic mechanical functions to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Certification in safely handling forklifts for material transport.
  • Ensure product packaging meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure accuracy in labeling, packaging, and quality control.
  • Working effectively with all parts of production teams.
  • Report issues, inventory levels, and operational concerns in a clear and timely manner.
  • Be a high performing Big Grove team member with ability to look at business as a whole, communicate with all people, collaborate with all departments, work to solve organizational problems, and accomplish goals.
  • Contribute to and exemplify BGB values, vision, standards, and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with established safety protocols and procedures within the brewery.
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot the canning line and related equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the canning area.
  • Assist with inventory management and monitor stock levels of Pak-Techs, labels, and empty cans, ensuring timely communication of replenishment needs.
  • Efficiently package products by assembling six-packs and twelve-packs into case trays and stacking them onto pallets.
  • Operate keg washing and filling equipment with precision and adherence to quality standards.
  • Safely operate a jib crane to support production processes.
  • Operate a forklift in accordance with safety regulations to transport materials and products.
