About The Position

This is a contract position for a Packaging Technician in Athens, GA, lasting 4+ months. The role involves working the first shift, Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. The primary responsibilities include packaging vaccines, operating machinery, and labeling finished goods. The technician will be responsible for operating packaging equipment to meet target line rates, collaborating with other teams to achieve production goals, and performing initial troubleshooting for equipment issues. Accurate and efficient product inspection, equipment change-overs, and adherence to cGMP documentation are crucial. The role also requires maintaining a safe and clean work environment, complying with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures, and potentially cross-training in other departmental areas.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years manufacturing experience
  • Detail oriented with effective communication skills and quality conscious
  • Equipment/Process troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Read, understand, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to the HSE Program.
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Supports safety policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and properly reports unsafe work habits, conditions, and/or practices.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties associated with labeling, inspecting, and packaging of vaccines.
  • Operate packaging equipment ensuring target line rates are met.
  • Collaborate effectively with other functional groups to ensure production goals are achieved and completed in a timely manner.
  • Operate packaging equipment (e.g.: labelers, pick and place, heat tunnel, vision systems, forklift, etc.).
  • Inspect product accurately and efficiently to meet quality guidelines.
  • Perform equipment change-over and set-up.
  • Responsible for initial troubleshooting for packaging equipment issues (e.g. Labelers, Pick and place, heat tunnel, etc.).
  • Ensure that proper cGMP documentation is followed for completeness and adherence to procedures in a timely manner.
  • Read, understand, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Preparation of QA Line clearances (e.g. Small volume line).
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment as required by Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Cross-train in other areas within the department as required to meet business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Line Leader or Supervisor.
  • Communicate processing needs to co-workers.
  • Communicate progress several times a day to the shift line leader and/or Supervisor.
  • Communicate at the time of event any process occurrences to shift line leader and/or Supervisor (escalation process).
  • Communicate facility and inventory related needs daily.
  • Monitor process against manufacturing records, data capture forms and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participate in Daily Performance Review (Team).
  • Complete batch tickets with materials consumed during execution.
  • Provide feedback as to feasibility of improvements proposed by others.
  • Adhere to defined process sequences.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the HSE Program.
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Support safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and properly report unsafe work habits, conditions, and/or practices.
